Ángel Villoldo died on 14 October 1919. Born in Barracas in 1861, he was a singer, guitarist and lyricist, one of the pioneers who turned habaneras and cuplés into Argentine rhythms. His "El choclo" premiered in 1903 and is still on the floor.
